Climate Action Plan for the University of Colorado, Boulder

Optony supported the University of Colorado, Boulder, in the creation of a Climate Action Plan (CAP) which not only addressed the overarching goals of GHG reductions, resilience measures, and community engagement, but also delivered CU Boulder staff a detailed playbook of budgets and step-by-step instructions needed for CU Boulder to deliver on all recommended actions. Optony partnered with Blue Strike Environmental to provide a well-rounded Project Team. The work involved creating a detailed current emissions inventory for CU Boulder’s Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions data into Blue Strike Environmental’s Climate and Energy Scenario Analysis (CESA) Tool to establish an emissions baseline. Optony provided a final Climate Action Plan to accelerate CU Boulder’s 2030 and 2050 carbon goals by providing clear, realistic, and cost-effective plans for achieving the climate action and resiliency goals with intermediate benchmarks established and tracked prior to the 2030 and 2050 dates.
